Meteorological Summary:
- A cold front near the I-4 corridor will continue to move southeastward through the Peninsula today.
- Isolated showers possible along and ahead of the frontal boundary throughout the day today and into the early overnight hours as it continues to move through the Peninsula (5-20% chance of rain).
- A cool and drier area of high pressure expanding over the state behind the cold front will bring dry conditions across North Florida, spreading southward behind the cold front throughout the day (near 0% chance of rain).
- Cool and dry will take hold statewide overnight and early Saturday morning as high pressure takes over the forecast.
- Breezy northerly winds near 5-15 mph with gusts upwards of 15-20 mph
- High temperatures in the low to middle 70s across North Florida with upper 70s to middle 80s elsewhere.
- Moderate to high risk for rip currentsnearly statewide.
- Minor to moderate coastal floodingis expected near and at times of high tide along the St. Johns River Basin, East Coast, Southwest Coast, and Keys due to King Tides.
- Minor to moderate riverine flooding continues along portions of the Withlacoochee and St. Johns Rivers.
- Low temperatures in the middle 40s to low 50s across much of North Florida, upper 50s to middle 60s across Central Florida, middle 60s to low 70s across South Florida, and low to middle 70s along the Keys.
- Tropical Storm Sara will continue to slow down and move westward along the north coast of Honduras over the next day or so. A slow west-northwestward motion is forecast by late Saturday, bringing Sara towards the coast of Belize early Sunday. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph and some slight strengthening is possible during the next couple of days if the center of Sara remains over water to the north of Honduras.
