EOC Activation Level: Level 2
Meteorological Summary:
  • High pressure over Florida will continue to promote mostly dry conditions across North Florida today as a frontal boundary weakens and stalls north of Florida.
  • A plume of moisture embedded within onshore flow along the East Coast will promote rounds of isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms across the Peninsula, developing along the east coastline and moving inland throughout the day (15-45% chance of rain).
  • Breezy easterly winds upwards of 10-15 mph with wind gusts reaching upwards of 15-25 mph will persist along the Peninsula and Keys.
  • High temperatures will continue to rise into the low to middle 80s in the afternoon with portions of the Florida Panhandle and Western Peninsula reaching into the upper 80s.
  • Please keep in mind heat safety when out in the field by taking breaks from direct sunlight and drinking plenty of water.
  • Locally sensitive wildfire conditions will remain possible along the Florida Panhandle throughout the afternoon due to the lack of rainfall and dry grounds.
  • High risk for rip currents persists along the East Coast with a moderate to high risk along the Florida Panhandle.
  • Red Tide has been observed at background to high concentrations in 76 samples collected from Florida’s Gulf Coast over the past week (as of 11/1); fish kills and respiratory irritation also reported in several Southwest Florida counties.
  • Mostly dry conditions can be expected to persist across North Florida overnight while isolated showers will remaining possible across the Peninsula throughout the overnight period (10-25% chance of rain).
  • Low temperatures will fall into the middle to upper 60s across North Florida, upper 60s to low 70s across Central Florida, low to middle 70s across South Florida, and upper 70s along the Keys.
  • Areas of patchy to locally dense fog will be possible along portions of the North Florida and the Western Peninsula overnight or early Sunday morning.
