The Portland Jetport (KPWM) geometry and runway safety area requirements necessitate the hold short lines for both Runway 18 and Runway 36 to be on taxiway Charlie, located further back than typically anticipated. There continues to be a high incident of runway incursions and pilot deviations at these hold short lines. Please reference the Letter to Airmen LTA-PWM-11 for more information: (https://www.faasafety.gov/files/notices/2024/Sep/PWM_LTA-11.pdf)
