…LONG DURATION SNOW EVENT FOR PORTIONS OF THE PANHANDLE…

.Low pressure is developing over the NE Gulf of Alaska and will
then remain relatively stationary through Tuesday. Moisture will
clash with established stable, dry air to produce consistent snow
and pockets of freezing drizzle for portions of the northern
Panhandle. Long duration snowfall will cause accumulations to
occur, particularly in the Juneau area.

* WHAT…Snow expected and chance of freezing drizzle. Total snow
accumulations around 2 inches.

* WHERE…City and Borough of Yakutat.

* WHEN…Until 6 PM AKST this evening.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Fine snow or freezing drizzle to start,
then expect heaviest rates for a short duration Monday
afternoon. Precipitation will continue beyond 6 PM Monday, but
warmer conditions are expected to be unfavorable for snow
accumulation.
