…LONG DURATION SNOW EVENT FOR PORTIONS OF THE PANHANDLE…

.Low pressure is developing over the NE Gulf of Alaska and will
then remain relatively stationary through Tuesday. Moisture will
clash with established stable, dry air to produce consistent snow
and pockets of freezing drizzle for portions of the northern
Panhandle. Long duration snowfall will cause accumulations to
occur, particularly in the Juneau area.

* WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 14
inches.

* WHERE…City and Borough of Juneau.

* WHEN…From 6 PM this evening to 3 AM AKST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions
could impact the morning and evening commute on Tuesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow characteristic will begin as dry and
fine ice crystals, then will increase in moisture over time.
Expect snow rates to remain consistent throughout the event with
around 4 inches falling over 12 hour periods. There is
potential for snow to last longer into Wednesday.
