…SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM CONTINUES INTO WEDNESDAY…
.Moderate to heavy snow is ongoing across the mountains this
afternoon, and will spread into the Foothills, Palmer Divide, and
I-25 corridor later this evening into tonight. Significant travel
disruptions will likely continue through Wednesday across the
mountains, with storm total snowfall of 1 to 2 feet likely. Some
impacts to the Wednesday morning commute are also possible across
the Denver metro, but confidence is lower in that area. Snow should
taper off Wednesday afternoon with improving travel conditions
Wednesday evening into Thursday.
* WHAT…Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 8 to 18
inches.
* WHERE…The Front Range mountains and Park and Gore Ranges,
including Rabbit Ears Pass, Rocky Mountain National Park, the
Medicine Bow Range, the mountains of Summit County, the Mosquito
Range, and the Indian Peaks Wilderness.
* WHEN…Until 5 PM MST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS…Road closures and impassable roads are possible,
especially this Tuesday evening into Tuesday night. Travel could
be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions will
impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes.
