…AVALANCHE WARNING IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY 5 PM…
*WHAT…Heavy snow and strong winds are resulting in very
dangerous avalanche conditions and HIGH (Level 4 of 5)
avalanche danger.
*WHERE…Park Range, Flat Tops, Gore Range, Indian Peaks,
Sawatch Range, Elk Mountains, western San Juan Mountains,
southern San Juan Mountains
*WHEN…Very dangerous avalanche conditions through
Wednesday.
*IMPACTS…Large and dangerous avalanches will be very easy
to trigger in many places. Avalanches will run naturally.
*PRECAUTION/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…Travel in backcountry
avalanche terrain is not recommended in the mentioned areas.
Avoid travel on and under slopes steeper than about 30 degrees.
