Special Weather Statement issued November 28 at 3:07PM AKST by NWS Juneau AK

System details:
Friday night an approaching system will feature deep moisture,
driving 1 to 2 inches of snow through Saturday until warmer air
at the surface arrives and a transition to all rain occurs
overnight Saturday. As rainfall continues Sunday, 24 hour rainfall
totals will be around 2 to 4 inches.

Timing:
Snow starts near 10pm Friday night, continues to near 10pm
Saturday evening.

24-hour snow totals:
The current forecast takes a modest approach and falls in line
with most model guidance means; highlighting a general 1 to 2
inches of wet and heavy snowfall in 24 hours. With that said, we
will see locally higher amounts along elevated portions of the PoW
road system. If QPF totals and snowfall rates surpass current
forecast expectations, we could receive 3 to 5 inches.

Sleet/freezing rain potential:
There also exists the potential for a few hours of sleet/freezing
rain as snow transitions to rain Saturday night.

Confidence:
High on timing.
Low on 24 hour snow totals.
Low on sleet/freezing rain.
