Meteorological Summary:
  • Happy First Day of Meteorological Winter!
  • Another day of relatively cool temperatures and dry weather can be expected, courtesy of a dominant area of high pressure. 
  • Rain chances remain near-zero for much of the Sunshine State today, with only an isolated chance for a coastal shower along the immediate Treasure Coast (15-20% chance of rain).
  • Northerly to northeasterly winds will once again work to funnel colder temperatures through North Florida, with the greatest chance of seeing at or below freezing temperatures residing throughout the Suwannee River Valley and interior Florida Big Bend.
  • Freeze Warnings remain in effect tonight into Monday morning as temperatures dip to the 29 to 31-degree range tonight into Monday morning; Frost Advisories continue for portions of Northeast Florida and the St. Johns River basin tonight. 
  • Moderate risk of rip currents continues for many Florida beaches today, locally high risk conditions reside along Palm Beach County coastline. 
  • Locally sensitive wildfire conditions possible across North Florida as relative humidity values fall at or below critical thresholds; however, lighter winds today will limit the extent of wildfire concerns.
