Heavy snow has spread north Through the day today. Snow will end
as it began, from south to north. A transition to rain began
early today over the southern Panhandle with the rain-snow line
slowly moving north throughout the night tonight. Brief periods
of freezing rain may occur as surface temperatures struggle to
warm during the transition.
* WHAT…Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches.
Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE…Municipality of Skagway.
* WHEN…Until 6 AM AKST Monday.
* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery conditions. Gusty winds could bring
down tree branches. The cold wind chills as low as 25 below
zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30
minutes.
