minor flooding in the Ward Cover recreational area.

* WHEN…Until 745 AM AKST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 312 PM AKST, the dam operator reported heavy rain in areas
near the Ward Lake recreational area. Minor flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly, especially near Ward
Lake. Between 5 and 10 inches of rain have fallen. Additional
rainfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches are possible.
– For Lake Connell Dam:
At 7:30am the stage was 253.0 feet.
Flood Stage is 252.0 feet.
Impacts:
At 252.0 feet: 2 feet of water will be going over the
emergency spillway which will produce minor flooding of areas
around the Ward Lake recreation area with trails and Last
Chance campground being inundated.
