Heavy rainfall across the southern panhandle has resulted in minor
flooding near the Thorne River. Rainfall rates will continue to
diminish through the evening hours. before picking back up late
overnight and into Tuesday.

– At 354 PM AKST, river gauge reports indicate rises in water
levels from heavy rain in areas around the Thorne River
bridge. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly, especially near Thorne River. Between 3 and 7 inches
of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of up to 1
inch are possible.
– For Thorne River near Thorne Bay:
At 4:00pm the stage was 13.4 feet.
Flood Stage is 12.5 feet.
Impacts:
At 12.5 feet: Water will begin to flow over the road upstream
from the Thorne River bridge.
