…FREEZING RAIN AND SNOW FOR THE NORTHERN PANHANDLE…

.Temperatures warming aloft with northwest surface winds below
freezing will lead to widespread freezing rain for Haines and Mud
Bay today. As aloft temperatures warm over the course of today,
freezing rain is expected to expand northward along the Haines
Highway. For the Klondike Highway, incoming moist conditions with
with warm southerly flow will lead to increasingly wet
accumulating snow up to 4 inches.

* WHAT…Significant icing. Additional snow accumulations of up
to one inch and ice accumulations of around one quarter of an
inch.

* WHERE…Haines and Haines Highway.

* WHEN…Until 3 PM AKST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Greatest freezing rain accumulation
expected around Haines and Mud Bay. As aloft temperatures warm
during the day, expect freezing rain to expand up the Haines
Highway.
