persistent lake snows. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy lake
effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations of greater than 7
inches possible in the most persistent lake snows. Winds could
gust as high as 45 to 50 mph Wednesday night through Thursday
night, producing considerable blowing and drifting snow.
* WHERE…Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties. Greatest additional
snow accumulation today across the higher terrain of the
Chautauqua Ridge and western Cattaraugus County.
* WHEN…For the Lake Effect Snow Warning, until 7 PM EST this
evening. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Wednesday evening
through late Thursday night.
* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult at times. The hazardous
conditions will impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.
