…FREEZING RAIN AND SNOW FOR THE NORTHERN PANHANDLE…

.Temperatures warming aloft with northwest surface winds below
freezing will lead to widespread freezing rain for Haines and Mud
Bay today. As aloft temperatures warm over the course of today,
freezing rain is expected to expand northward along the Haines
Highway. For the Klondike Highway, incoming moist conditions with
with warm southerly flow will lead to increasingly wet
accumulating snow up to 4 inches.

* WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of around 4
inches.

* WHERE…Klondike Highway above 1000 ft.

* WHEN…From 9 AM this morning to 9 PM AKST this evening.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Heaviest rates are expected late morning
and into the afternoon. Expect snow to become increasingly wet
with time.
