The USHST is a regional partner to the International Helicopter Safety Team.
USHST Goal: Reduce the U.S. helicopter fatal accident rate 20% by the end of 2019 (20% by 2020)
In CY 2018, the U.S. helicopter industry experienced a negative trend in which 24 fatal accidents and 55 fatalities occurred.
USHST H-SE 19A, Safety Culture and Professionalism, would have had the most significant impact in preventing these fatal accidents (applicable to 50% of the 24 fatal accidents)
