Rip Current Statement issued December 5 at 3:01AM CST until December 6 at 3:00PM CST by NWS Houston/Galveston TX

* WHAT…Dangerous rip currents.

* WHERE…Gulf-facing beaches, including the Matagorda
Peninsula, Brazoria County beaches, Galveston Island and the
Bolivar Peninsula.

* WHEN…Through at least Friday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away
from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…An environment supporting prolonged periods
of high rip current risk may exist beyond Friday afternoon. Keep
up with the latest information from this office for the latest
and if any extensions to this statement may be necessary.
