between 4 and 9 inches, bringing storm totals of 5 to 11 inches by
early Friday morning. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will produce
areas of blowing and drifting snow.
* WHERE…A portion of central New York, including Onondaga,
Cortland, Madison,Chenango, Otsego and southern Oneida counties.
* WHEN…Until 4 AM EST Friday.
* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions
could impact the morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could
bring down tree branches.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Embedded snow squalls may reduce visibility
to near zero at times. Winds will become increasingly strong and
gusty later today and tonight as the event transitions to lake
effect snow and blowing snow.
