Flood Watch issued December 5 at 1:31PM AKST until December 6 at 9:00AM AKST by NWS Juneau AK

A low and associated front will move across the area Thursday night
bringing more moderate to heavy rain across the region. The rain
combined with a melting snowpack and high freezing levels will
continue to provide runoff for area rivers and streams that are
already running at an elevated level. The heaviest rainfall amounts
will occur from the late evening through early morning hours.

* WHAT…Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be
possible.

* WHERE…The following area, Central Inner Channels. This includes
the city of Juneau.

* WHEN…Through Friday morning.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, low-lying areas and flood-prone locations. Creeks
and streams may rise out of their banks. Storm drains and ditches
may become clogged with debris. Area creeks and streams are
running high and could flood with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– Heavy rain will fall on the existing snowpack leading to
increased runoff. Rivers already experiencing elevated flows
may see increases and reach impactful levels. Between 0.75 to
an 1.25 inches of rain with localized higher amounts is
possible through Thursday morning.

– Storm drains should be kept clear of debris as much as possible.
