Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

EOC Activation Level: Level 2
Meteorological Summary:
  • Light to moderate showers moving into the Florida Panhandle ahead of a cold front will continue to spread east and south through the region today (40-80% chance of rain).
  • Mostly dry conditions persist along the Peninsula (near 0-10% chance of rain).
  • High temperatures in the middle 60s to low 70s across North Florida and middle to upper 70s elsewhere.
  • Breezy winds near 10-15 mph to develop across North and Central Florida with gusts upwards of 15-20 mph.
  • Locally sensitive wildfire conditions cannot be ruled out through the Peninsula.
  • Drought conditions continue to worsen and expand across the state on this week’s Drought Monitor update.
  • Moderate to high risk for rip currents along the Florida Panhandle and East Coast.
  • Isolated to widely scattered showers remain possible across the Big Bend and Northern Peninsula overnight (15-30% chance of rain).
  • Mostly dry conditions persist elsewhere overnight (near 0-10% chance of rain).
  • Low temperatures in the low to middle 30s along the Panhandle, middle to upper 30s through the Big Bend into the Suwannee Valley, and 40s across the rest of the Northern Peninsula.
  • Cold Weather Advisories have been issued for the early to mid-morning hours Friday along the Panhandle and Eastern Big Bend as breezy winds will likely create very cold wind chills as low as 20-25 degrees.
  • Wind chills in the upper 20s and 30s through the rest of the Big Bend into the Suwannee Valley and Northeast Florida early Friday morning with low to middle 40s through the rest of the Northern Peninsula.
  • Low temperatures  in the middle 50s to low 60s across Central and South Florida with middle to upper 60s along the Keys.
