Meteorological Summary:
- Isolated showers will continue through the Peninsula this afternoon along and ahead of a cold front as it sinks through the state (10-20% chance of rain).
- Near-zero rain chances can be expected elsewhere across Florida as a cool and dry high pressure airmass builds in behind the cold front.
- Breezy northerly to northeasterly winds near 5-10 mph gusting to near 10-20 mph at times.
- High temperatures in the low to middle 50s along the Florida Panhandle, upper 50s to middle 60s across the Northern Peninsula, middle 60s to low 70s towards the I-4 corridor, middle 60s to upper 70s south of the I-4 corridor across Central Florida and middle 70s to low 80s across South Florida and the Keys.
- Dry air filtering in behind the cold front will combine with breezy conditions to create sensitive toelevated wildfire concerns with some areas reaching near critical conditions.
- While Red Flag Conditions are not expected to be met at this time, conditions will continue to monitored throughout the day.
- Moderate to high risk for rip currentsalong Florida Panhandle and East Coast.
- Dry and mostly clear conditions will continue through the overnight hours across the state with a few isolated showers possible along the Southeast Coast (near 0-15% chance of rain).
- With hard freeze conditions possible in the Suwannee Valley, Freeze Watches have been issued across the interior Northern Peninsula for this evening through Saturday morning for sub-freezing temperatures as low as 27-degrees.
- Low temperatures in the upper 20s to middle 30s expected elsewhere across North Florida and through the Nature Coast with 40s across Central Florida and 50s to middle 60s across South Florida and the Keys.
- Lingering breezy winds will likely cause temperatures to feel like they are in the low to middle 20s through the Suwannee Valley, upper 20s to low 30s across North Florida, and low to middle 30s through the Nature Coast and into the Tampa Bay Area early Saturday morning.
