Flood Watch issued December 10 at 3:18AM EST until December 12 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Albany NY

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE…Portions of northwestern Connecticut including Litchfield
County, western Massachusetts, including Berkshire County, eastern
New York, including Washington County, and southern Vermont
including Bennington and Windham Counties.

* WHEN…From Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– A low pressure system and a cold front will bring periods of
moderate to heavy rain Wednesday afternoon into the evening
before colder air returns to eastern New York and western New
England. Mild temps will allow for snow melt which will
further add to the run off. There is also a chance of
thunderstorms across some of the watch area. Isolated flash
flooding and some minor flooding of main stem rivers is
possible. Total rainfall before a transition to snowfall
Thursday morning will be one and a half to three inches in
the watch area.
