While occasional light snow or flurries will be possible through
most of the daytime hours of Tuesday, any accumulation will remain
minimal.
After 4pm, scattered snow showers over central South Dakota,
ahead of an arctic cold front, will track southeast into the Tri-
State area. More intense snow showers may bring brief visibility
restrictions under one half mile, along with a rapid accumulation
of snow. While overall snow accumulations by Wednesday morning may
average a dusting to a half inch, very narrow bands of 1 to 2
inches of snow may be possible.
Along with the snow showers, strong northwest winds may gust to 45
mph at times Tuesday evening especially in areas along and west
of Interstate 29. The combination of light snow accumulation,
strong wind gusts, and potential for flash freezing on roads may
lead to hazardous travel late Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday
night.
