in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline during
the morning and late afternoon and early evening high tides.
* WHERE…Southern Queens and Southern Nassau Counties.
* WHEN…During the times of high tide this morning and then
again late this afternoon and early evening.
* COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS…Brief minor flooding of the most
vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline.
* SHORELINE IMPACTS…Breaking waves of 8 to 12 ft along the
Rockaways and 10 to 16 ft along the ocean beaches of Nassau
County will result in beach flooding and erosion with
scattered areas of dune erosion. Localized overwashes are
possible where dune structures have been compromised.
