* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…Portions of North Carolina, including the following
counties, Alleghany NC, Surry and Wilkes and southwest Virginia,
including the following counties and independent city, Carroll,
City of Galax and Patrick.

* WHEN…Until noon EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 408 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain. Overflowing poor drainage areas will
cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Leaves may block
storm drains. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
– This includes the following streams and drainages…
Anglin Branch and Ararat River.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include...
