Winter Weather Advisory issued December 11 at 3:20AM EST until December 11 at 2:00PM EST by NWS Jackson KY

Rain will transition to snow around sunrise this morning. This snow
will then fall at a moderate to heavy rate for 2 to 4 hours before
tapering off around midday. Most locations should receive one or
less of accumulation, but places above 2,000 feet will likely be
closer to 2 inches with some spots picking up as much as 3 inches.

At lower elevations, snow accumulations will be limited by the
warm air/road temperatures out ahead of this system. There,
accumulations should be confined to grassy and elevated surfaces
with visibility reduction being the primary impact on travel.
However, on roads above 2,000 feet elevation, such as US-119 and
US-421 over Pine Mountain and KY-160 over Black Mountain, winter
travel conditions (slushy snow on untreated roadways) are more
likely.

* WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations most places around
an inch but up to three inches possible above 2000 feet.

* WHERE…Portions of eastern Kentucky.

* WHEN…Until 2 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Wednesday morning commute.
