* WHAT…For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 18
to 23 feet in the surf zone. For the Coastal Flood Warning,
significant coastal flooding expected. Inundation of
2.5 to 3.5 feet above ground level is possible along
shorelines and low-lying coastal area.
* WHERE…North Coast and Central Coast zones.
* WHEN…For the High Surf Advisory, until 4 PM PST this
afternoon. For the Coastal Flood Warning, from 8 AM this
morning to 2 PM PST this afternoon.
* IMPACTS…Significant coastal flooding due to high tides and
storm surge is expected. This is expected to lead to numerous
road closures. Low lying property including homes, businesses,
and some critical infrastructure may be inundated. Shoreline
erosion or damage may occur. Dangerous swimming and surfing
conditions and localized beach erosion.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Highest impacts will occur in the hours
near high tide at around 11 AM. Winds and large breaking waves
will exacerbate impacts due to coastal flooding. Additional
minor coastal flooding is possible around high tide late
Monday morning as well.
