Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

Meteorological Summary:
  • Brief coastal showers developing along the East Coast and moving inland towards the I-75 corridor increasing in coverage late this afternoon and early this evening (20-50% chance of rain).
  • Mostly dry conditions elsewhere across (near 0-15% chance of rain).
  • Breezy winds near 10-15 mph statewide with gusts reaching upwards of 15-25 mph; Stronger gusts up to 35 mphpossible along the immediate east coastline.
  • High temperatures in the upper 60s to middle 70s along the Florida Panhandle, middle to upper 70s across the Northern Peninsula, upper 70s to low 80s across West-Central and South Florida and the Keys, and middle to upper 70s across East-Central Florida.
  • Moderate to high risk for rip currentsalong Florida Panhandle and East Coast.
  • Beach and boating conditions continue to deteriorate and become increasingly hazardous along Florida’s Atlantic Coast today.
    • High Surf Advisories in effect along the East Coast for large breaking waves upwards of 5-10’expected in the surf zone.
    • Minor to moderate beach erosionalong the East Coast around times of high tide.
    • Coastal Flood Advisoriesin effect along the Northeast Coast as minor coastal flooding is expected around times of high tide.
    • Elevated water levels and instances of minor coastal floodingpossible elsewhere along the East Coast, along the Atlantic-facing Keys, and in tidal portions of the St. johns River Basin.
  • Scattered showers will continue to develop along the East Coast and move inland towards the I-75 corridor through the overnight hours (20-60% chance of rain).
  • Mostly dry conditions persist elsewhere overnight (5-15% chance of rain).
  • Low temperatures in the middle to upper 50s along the Florida Panhandle and into the Suwannee Valley, low to middle 60s across the rest of the Northern Peninsula, middle to upper 60s across Central and South Florida, and low to middle 70s along the Southeast Coast and Keys.
