* WHAT…Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations around one
tenth of an inch, with locally higher amounts. Winds gusting as
high as 30 mph.

* WHERE…Avery, Mitchell, Yancey, and northwestern portions of
Caldwell, Burke, and McDowell Counties in western North Carolina.

* WHEN…Until noon EST today.

* IMPACTS…Icing may create slippery conditions on roads, bridges
and sidewalks. The weight of the ice on tree limbs and power lines
could produce isolated outages.
