High Surf Advisory issued December 17 at 4:35PM ChST until December 18 at 6:00PM ChST by NWS Tiyan GU

* WHAT…For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 7 to
9 feet along north facing reefs. For High Rip Current Risk,
dangerous rip currents along north and east facing reefs.

* WHERE…Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan.

* WHEN…For the High Surf Advisory, until 6 PM ChST Wednesday.
For the High Rip Current Risk, through Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best
swimmers away from shore into deeper water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Elevated trade-wind conditions along with
a long-period north swell will cause hazardous surf along north
facing shores, and a high risk of rip currents along both north
and east facing reefs through Wednesday.
