Green River near Mammoth Cave affecting Edmonson County.
.Heavy rain from earlier this week is causing the river to rise.
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE…Green River near Mammoth Cave.
* WHEN…Until early Tuesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS…At 20.0 feet, Green River Ferry closes to RV and trailer
traffic due to high water. Heavy loads will be at the judgment of
the ferry operator considering the 12 ton load limit of ferry.
Backcountry camping on the Green River floodplain is prohibited.
At 20.1 feet, Launching of paddle craft is prohibited.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 7:00 PM CST Thursday the stage was 30.5 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet.
– Forecast…The river will rise to 30.6 feet just after
midnight tonight. It will then fall to 20.1 feet early Sunday
afternoon. It will rise to 20.2 feet early Monday afternoon.
It will then fall again and remain below flood stage.
– Action stage is 20.0 feet.
– Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
