Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

Meteorological Summary:
  • Mostly dry conditions across the state today as a dry reinforcing cold front moves through (near 0% chance of rain).
  • Breezy northwesterly to westerly winds near 10-15 mph with gusts upwards of 15-25 mph
  • High temperatures in the middle to upper 60s across North Florida, low to middle 70s spreading southward to the I-4 corridor, and middle 70s to low 80s elsewhere.
  • Locally sensitive wildfire conditionspossible across portions of North Florida this afternoon as dry air pulls relative humidity values down to 30-45%.
  • Moderate risk for rip currentsnearly statewide today.
  • Near-zero rain chances will persist into the overnight hours as the cool and dry high pressure airmass builds in over the Eastern U.S.
  • Breezy northerly to northwesterly winds will remain near 5-10 mph with gusts near 10-20 mph
  • Low temperatures in the low to middle 30s through the Florida Panhandle and into the Suwannee Valley, upper 30s to low 40s through the rest of the Northern Peninsula and across the Nature Coast, middle to upper 40s across Central Florida, low to middle 50s across South Florida, and upper 50s to middle 60s along the Keys.
  • Breezy winds overnight will cause temperatures to feel like they are in the middle 20s to middle 30s across North Florida, middle 30s to middle 40s across the Nature Coast and through Central Florida and the Lake Okeechobee area overnight and early Saturday morning.
  • Areas of patchy frost possible across portions of North Florida overnight into early Saturday morning.
