Winter Weather Advisory issued December 21 at 5:11AM AKST until December 22 at 6:00PM AKST by NWS Anchorage AK

* WHAT…Snow and freezing rain expected. Snow accumulations up
to 8 inches with ice accumulations up to 2 tenths of an inch.

* WHERE…Richardson Highway from Tonsina south to Thompson Pass.

* WHEN…From 6 PM this evening to 6 PM AKST Sunday.

* IMPACTS…Travel may be difficult due to snow and ice
accumulation. Rain on snow covered roadways may create
additional ice and travel hazards.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Warm air aloft is expected to move in from
the southeast while surface winds remain light. Precipitation
type may change rapidly between snow and freezing rain with
elevation along the highway. The most likely time for freezing
rain is overnight tonight.
