Winter Storm Warning issued December 23 at 5:05AM AKST until December 25 at 3:00PM AKST by NWS Fairbanks AK

* WHAT…Heavy snow and blowing snow. Total snow accumulations 12
to 18 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will create areas
of blowing snow with visibility as low as 1/2 mile at times.

* WHERE…Upper Kobuk Valleys and Lower Koyukuk Valley.

* WHEN…From 3 AM Tuesday to 3 PM AKST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The
cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite
on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Heaviest snow and blowing snow will occur
Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.
