Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

Meteorological Summary:
  • Mostly dry conditions can be expected across the state today under the periphery of an area of high pressure to the north (near 0% chance of rain).
  • Isolated showers possible along Florida’s Atlantic Coast with the help of onshore winds, adequate moisture, and a stalled frontal boundary across Central Florida (5-20% chance of rain).
  • High temperatures in the middle to upper 60s across North Florida, low to middle 70s across Central Florida, and middle to upper 70s across South Florida and the Keys.
  • Northeasterly to northerly winds will remain near 5-10 mph today with gusts near 10-15 mph.
  • High risk for rip currents along the East Coast; Moderate risk for rip currents along the Florida Pahandle.
  • Mostly dry conditions will continue through the overnight hours across the state with isolated showers remaining possible along Florida’s Atlantic Coast as the stalled frontal boundary across Central Florida drifts slightly further southward through the Lake Okeechobee region (near 0-25% chance of rain).
  • Low temperatures in the 40s across North Florida, middle to upper 50s across Central Florida, 60s across South Florida, and upper 60s to low 70s along the Southeast Coast and Keys.
  • Some localized areas north of the I-4 corridor could see low temperatures briefly dip into the upper 30s before daybreak Wednesday.
  • Patchy frost formation cannot be ruled out early Wednesday morning north of the I-4 corridor.
  • Areas of patchy to dense fog possible overnight into early Wednesday morning across portions of the Peninsula.
