* WHAT…Hazardous surf of 9 to 11 feet and dangerous rip currents.
* WHERE…West and north facing reefs of the Marianas.
* WHEN…Until 4 PM ChST Thursday.
* IMPACTS…Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and
localized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the best
swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A large northerly swell has started to enter
the region with altimetry and buoy data showing 9 to 11 foot seas
across the far northern Marianas. A high risk of rip currents will
be possible along east facing reefs on Thursday as the northerly
and northeasterly swells increase.
