Florida State Watch Office Morning Situation Report

EOC Activation Level: Level 2
Meteorological Summary:
  • Areas of patchy to locally dense fog along the Eastern and Southern Peninsula will gradually lift and dissipate through the mid-morning hours.
  • Mostly dry conditions across much of the Sunshine State throughout the day (near 0-10% chance of rain).
  • Isolated to widely scattered showers along the Space and Treasure Coasts and across South Florida and the Keys today due to breezy onshore winds, returning moisture, and a stalled frontal boundary remaining draped across South Florida (15-45% chance of rain).
  • High temperatures in the middle to upper 60s across North Florida and 70s elsewhere.
  • High risk for rip currents along Florida’s East Coast; moderate risk along numerous Florida Panhandle beaches.
  • Isolated to scattered showers will begin to develop across much of the state overnight as the area of high pressure to the north begins to break down, a stalled frontal boundary remains draped across North Florida, and the next upper-level disturbance approaches from the west (15-45% chance of rain).
  • Low temperatures in the middle 40s to low 50s across the Florida Panhandle and Suwannee Valley, middle to upper 50s across the rest of North Florida, upper 50s to middle 60s across Central Florida, 60s across South Florida, and upper 60s to low 70s along the Southeast Coast and Keys.
  • Areas of patchy to locally dense fog will be possible along the Peninsula overnight into Thursday morning.
