Winter Weather Advisory issued December 26 at 4:46AM AKST until December 27 at 12:00PM AKST by NWS Anchorage AK

* WHAT…Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations
of up to 2 inches during the advisory period. Winds gusting as
high as 35 to 45 mph. Visibility down to one- half mile at
times.

* WHERE…Eastern Aleutians, primarily near and around Unalaska.

* WHEN…From 9 PM this evening to noon AKST Friday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing
snow could significantly reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…While snow showers and periods of reduced
visibility in heavier snow showers are possible over the course
of the day Thursday, snow shower coverage will increase
overnight and Friday. This combined with gusty northerly winds
will lead to reduced visibilities down to a half mile at times.

Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Northwest San Juan Mountains, Southwest San Juan Mountains, and West Elk and Sawatch Mountains. * WHEN...From midnight Thursday Night to 6 PM MDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
