backcountry due to significant snow falling on a weak snowpack.
* WHERE…The Palisades, Elk Mountains, and Big Holes of Southeast
Idaho.
* WHEN…6 PM Saturday to 6 PM Sunday.
* IMPACTS…Recent heavy snow combined with wind will likely
create widespread areas of unstable snow. Human-triggered
avalanches large enough to bury people are very likely to occur
on most aspects and elevations in the backcountry.
