AVWRIW
* WHAT…Avalanche danger is high in the backcountry due to significant
snow falling on a weak snowpack.
* WHERE…The mountains of western Wyoming including the Snake
River, Salt River, Wyoming, Gros Ventre and Teton Ranges. The
mountains of southeast Idaho, including the Palisades, Elk
Mountains and Big Holes.
* WHEN…In effect from Sat 18:00 MST to Sun 18:00 MST.
* IMPACTS…Recent heavy snow combined with wind will likely
create widespread areas of unstable snow. Human-triggered
avalanches large enough to bury people are very likely to occur
on most aspects and elevations in the backcountry.
* PRECAUTIONARY / PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…Travel in avalanche
terrain is not recommended. Avalanches may involve deeper weak
layers of snow and produce a larger avalanche than expected.
Avalanches could run onto low angle terrain, hitting paths,
roads or groomed snowmobile trails.
Consult http://bridgertetonavalanchecenter.org/ or
www.avalanche.org for more detailed information.
Similar avalanche danger may exist at locations outside the
coverage area of this or any avalanche center.
