* WHAT…Large breaking waves of 5 to 8 feet. Surf will be
highest across west-facing beaches. Strong and dangerous rip
currents are expected.
* WHERE…Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches.
* WHEN…Until 3 AM PST Monday.
* IMPACTS…There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip
currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can
wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats
nearshore.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Minor coastal flooding is possible within a
couple of hours of the morning high tides over the weekend. High
tides will increase to near 6 feet between 7 AM and 730 AM PST
Sunday. Shallow flooding is possible on vulnerable beach roads,
and in low-lying parking lots and bike paths.
