High Surf Advisory issued December 28 at 11:35AM PST until December 31 at 3:00AM PST by NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA

* WHAT…Large breaking waves of 10 to 15 feet with local sets up
to 18 feet. Surf subsiding to 8 to 11 feet Sunday afternoon
through Monday night. Surf will be highest across west-facing
beaches. Strong and dangerous rip currents are expected.

* WHERE…San Luis Obispo County Beaches and Santa Barbara
County Central Coast Beaches.

* WHEN…Until 3 AM PST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…There is an increased risk for ocean drowning. Rip
currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large
breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and
rocks, and capsize small boats near shore.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Minor coastal flooding is possible within a
couple of hours of the morning high tides over the weekend. High
tides will increase to near 6 feet between 7 AM and 730 AM PST
Sunday. Shallow flooding is possible on vulnerable beach roads,
and in low-lying parking lots and bike paths.
