…Critical conditions for the spread of wildfires Monday
afternoon…

.A developing low pressure system in the central plains will
increase winds and lower relative humidity across the northern
Rio Grande Plains, Edwards Plateau, and western Hill Country
Monday afternoon. Sustained winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30
mph are expected, along with minimum relative humidity dropping
to 10 to 15 percent by early afternoon. The winds will die down
and humidity recover after sunset, thus reducing the threat below
critical levels. This watch may be upgraded to a Red Flag Warning
overnight after analysis of additional observations and model
data.

* FOR FOR THE NORTHERN RIO GRANDE PLAINS…EDWARDS PLATEAU, AND
WESTERN HILL COUNTRY.

The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a
Fire Weather Watch for the Northern Rio Grande Plains, Edwards
Plateau, and western Hill Country, which is in effect Monday
afternoon.

* AFFECTED AREA…Fire Weather Zone 171 Llano, Fire Weather Zone
183 Val Verde, Fire Weather Zone 184 Edwards, Fire Weather
Zone 185 Real, Fire Weather Zone 186 Kerr and Fire Weather
Zone 188 Gillespie.

* TIMING…Monday afternoon.

* WINDS…West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…As low as 10 percent.

* TEMPERATURES…Up to 85.

* LIGHTNING…None expected

* IMPACTS…Any wildfires that start could rapidly increase in
size and intensity, and move quickly.
