…CRITICAL FIRE DANGER MONDAY FOR SACRAMENTO AND CAPITAN
MOUNTAINS…

.Developing low pressure system across the Central Plains will
induce gusty conditions over eastern New Mexico Monday morning
and afternoon. Recent dryness and above normal temperatures have
led to below normal fuel moisture with ERC values above average
(75-90th percentiles) for late December. The most severe
conditions will exist across mountain ridges and east slopes,
where west winds 20 to 30 mph will combine with relative humidity
10-15% to generate hazardous fire weather conditions. Winds will
diminish Monday night but dry and warm weather will continue
through most of early January..

* AFFECTED AREA…Fire Weather Zone 113 Capitan and Sacramento
Mountains/Lincoln NF/LNZ.

* WIND…West at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* HUMIDITY…10 to 20 percent.

* EXPERIMENTAL RFTI…4 to 6 Near Critical to Critical

* IMPACTS…any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
