North to northwest winds will increase through the morning and
persist through this afternoon. Gusts of 40-45 mph are likely at
times, especially south of the Kankakee River and moreso along and
south of U.S. Highway 24. Gusts of 40 to 45 mph are also expected
along the Lake Michigan shoreline of Lake and Porter Counties this
afternoon.
If traveling today, plan for wet and windy conditions which may
make travel difficult, especially for high profile vehicles on
east west roadways.
