Neches River Near Alto affecting Trinity, Cherokee, Houston and
Anderson Counties.

For the Neches River…including Lake Palestine, Neches, Alto,
Diboll, Rockland…Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.

* WHERE…Neches River near Alto.

* WHEN…Until late Friday night.

* IMPACTS…At 18.0 feet, Expect moderate to severe flooding of the
heavily wooded floodplain. Boat ramps and picnic areas will be
completely inundated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 10:15 AM CST Monday the stage was 18.0 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet.
– Recent Activity…The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:15 AM CST Monday was 18.2 feet.
– Forecast…The river is cresting and is expected to start
slowly falling this afternoon. It will then fall below flood
stage early Thursday afternoon.
– Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of
18.0 feet on 02/10/1975.
