Winter Storm Watch issued December 30 at 2:39PM EST until January 2 at 4:00AM EST by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC

* WHAT…Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations around 4 to 8
inches possible. West to northwest winds could gust as high as 50
mph.

* WHERE…In Maryland, Garrett County. In West Virginia, Western
Grant and Western Pendleton Counties.

* WHEN…From late Tuesday night through late Wednesday night.

* IMPACTS…Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4
mile due to falling and blowing snow. Plan on slippery road
conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact holiday travel.
Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Rain will change to snow late Tuesday night
above 3,000 feet and by early Wednesday morning for the rest of
the area. Snowfall rates around 1 inch per hour are possible at
times through Wednesday evening.
