Special Weather Statement issued December 31 at 12:35PM EST by NWS Charleston WV

At 1235 PM EST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Lake Vesuvius to near Ceredo to Fort Gay to
near Charley. Movement was east at 40 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Huntington, Ashland, Louisa, Coal Grove, Wayne, Hamlin, Chesapeake,
Proctorville, Beech Fork State Park, Lake Vesuvius, Hurricane,
Barboursville, Kenova, Milton, Catlettsburg, Ceredo, Fort Gay,
Ranger, Burnaugh, and Harts.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 64 in Kentucky near mile marker 191.
Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 1 and 36.
