Special Weather Statement issued December 31 at 2:17PM EST by NWS Morristown TN

Temperatures will drop below freezing across the higher elevations
of the mountains tonight with rain changing to snow after 9 PM
EST. Light snowfall accumulation will be possible above 3000 feet
with around 1 to 2 inches of snow accumulation possible across
the highest peaks.

Any accumulations of snow or other wintry precipitation are
expected to be light. However, driving and walking may be
difficult on some untreated roadways and sidewalks across the
higher elevations of the mountains. Be prepared for slippery roads
and limited visibilities across the higher terrain. If traveling
through the mountains, slow down and allow extra time to reach
your destination.
