Lake Effect Snow Warning issued January 2 at 3:33PM EST until January 4 at 4:00PM EST by NWS Albany NY

* WHAT…Lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations between
4 and 9 inches, with the highest totals across western parts of
the area.

* WHERE…Montgomery and Southern Fulton Counties.

* WHEN…Until 4 PM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions
could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Lake effect snow bands will likely oscillate
between the Mohawk Valley and Adirondacks during this
long-duration event, bringing periods of moderate to heavy snow
and gusty winds resulting in blowing and drifting snow. Snowfall
rates of up to 1 inch per hour expected.
